Multichannel solution for leading cycle retailer

Sigma are a leader in the pack of cycle retailers throughout Europe and the UK.  With their ecommerce website and professional racing team they have a wide reach so distribute globally as well as being a Specialized Store partner. Because of this partnership with Specialized they wanted a website to reflect both their own branding and some design elements from Specialized's own style guidelines.

They also wanted an ecommerce web solution that would enable them to update content frequently as well as being able to create new landing pages for product offers and news events.  We introduced them to our CMS (Content Management System) and worked closely with their new marketing team to create a range of page templates that would enable them to react quickly and consistently to the every day challenges of running an ecommerce business.

On Sigma's new homepage design we implemented a jQuery carousel of products that are selected from within the Sparkstone EPoS software.  Rotating carousels are a great way of getting more content on to your website homepage and have valuable SEO benefits as they help to boost the amount of indexable content that Google or other search engines will find interesting or relevant. With the latest relaunch of Sigma's website (March 2012) we added new functionality to our product carousels, which enables them to identify the category landing page they appear on and subsequently which products to show.


  • For the new  Sigma Sport website we redesigned their product stamps and used best practice UX and UI theories to aid conversions

    A responsive layout and best practice UX design

    A big change in the Sigma site this year is the intr duction of CSS media queries.  This new technology allows us to create different page layout for different viewing screen sizes. Although we haven't gone down to mobile screen sizes in this update, the site does fit nicely onto a range of devices from iPads right up to 1920 x 1080p monitors.

  • Customers can add to basket and access product availability info without even entering the product details page

    The March 2012 update of the Sigma site also saw the introduction of more functional 'product stamps' on category and search results pages. Customers can now add to basket and check product availability without even entering the product details page.

  • Products with multiple matrix options including colours and sizes can all be accessed from one product page

    Matrix options now easier to access

    Products with multiple matrix points including things like colour, size and material are now catered for on one easy page layout. The previous version of the website only showed one matrix point at a time using a drop down list.  With this new layout we believe conversions will be increased as customers can quickly access the exact combination they need and add to basket via a bright yellow button.

Content management made easy...

Cross-sell and Up-sell opportunities are maximised with related products and customers also bought products displayed on the basket page. This is a great way of encouraging customers to break through to the free-delivery basket value or the next step on Sigma's loyalty points scheme.
